Presentation: Khmer Traditional Noodle

Workshop: Aromatic Spice Paste


In this class, participants will learn how to make kreung (គ្រឿង), the traditional aromatic spice paste that serves as the foundation of many Khmer (Cambodian) dishes, with each person preparing their own base from scratch using fresh herbs and roots. Using this freshly made kreung, we will then teach how to prepare Nom Banchok Samlo Khmer, a beloved Cambodian noodle dish that showcases these core flavors. This component offers a meaningful introduction to how foundational ingredients like kreung bring depth, aroma, and authenticity to traditional Khmer cooking.
